week one term 4
Wow has it been hard getting back into the flow of things! Early mornings, school work and after school activities are hard to get used to after a two week holiday! The last term of school has a lot of things going on, and I am part of a lot of them!
Athletics, rock band, Grandparents Concert, Band, and Table tennis are just some of the things I am involved with in school. In the holidays I audition for any part in Oliver the musical that is being performed at the Wool Shed in May. I managed to get the part Artful Dodger, and I am very pleased about that! I was tested for Oliver, but he was harder to act as he didn't have any special characteristics. I think I also might have been too tall and old for Oliver. Practices are three times per week, and they carry on for six months, right into 2016, until we reach the performances. With six months of practice and 13 shows, I think I will know all of the script off by heart by the end!
At the Grandparent concert I am performing in the Rock Band, and I am also singing the last song of production to the Grandparents as well. (Battle of the Bands)
Christmas is nearing, so the days are getting hotter and longer, and I can's wait until it is swimming season!!

week 3
\Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while , but things have been very busy. On Friday, week 2, Toxic rose and Keep The Beat arrived in Hamilton at 6:00pm for the annual competition Band Slam. (Pulse) It was so nerve racking when I was waiting backstage with the band (Toxic Rose)to get called on top perform our original song! But trust me, once I was up there, and the band started playing, it was like all of nerves just disappeared! I had a great time, and I felt more confident up there than singing a school! There were about 500 people there, so you had to work hard to get the crowd going, but we soon got their feet tapping. Before hopping off the stage we were congratulated by the two hosts from Amazing Race. After the rest of the entries had performed in front of the crowd, it was time for the prize giving. Unfortunately, none of the bands came first, but Toxic rose came 3rd in the category of creativity.
We have got another competition in the tron coming up.
Another symphonic band fest is coming up too, in Roturua. We are practicing our pieces hard for that.
We are all also training for cross country, and practicing our speeches for the presentation dates. Mine is about cyber bullying.
I will talk to you soon

Prior term 3
Before term 3 starts officially, I would like to state all the things I will be included in through out the term.
There are two main things that will be happening in the school is speeches and cross country. My goal for cross country this year is to achieve the place of 9th or above, as I placed 9th last year!
I have already began my speech, and my topic is cyber bullying, urging people to get cyber bully safe, and also not to cyber bully others. My goal for this is just to do well in my class presentation. I am not too worried if I don't get into the team finals! Another thing that I am doing is a rock band competition!! I am super nervous about it! We have practice every single lunchtime from now until the concert!! There is inter class football which I am also looking forward to participating in! I will inform after each of these events happen, as I am still to my weekly report!

end of term2
This week has been COLD! I can really tell that it is getting in to winter. Today was 14 degrees and tomorrow it is said to be -1! Today is mufti, (Wednesday). I wore my Land of the Long White Cloud shirt, and my Nike pro's. Not that it matters! :)
We had volleyball with Project Energize this morning in the ALC. (Arts and Leisure Center)
At lunchtime, me and Casey had to go to the Gym Festival meeting before rushing off to Belmont training. We received a form that we need to bring back along with $7 for the entry fee. This afternoon we are a doing inquiry. Here is what I am doing.
Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, as it was just really a draft. I cannot wait until I start making the presentation!
Anyway, on Tuesday we had WIMS Football. We drew one game, and lost the other two. I scored our only goal! WHOOP WHOOP! Who cares if we lost, as long as we played our best.

Week 5 Term two
This week has been very...medical I suppose. On Tuesday I got called to the dentist, and on Wednesday I got called to the hall for my 2nd immunization. OUCH! It really hurt, and I am not just saying that. On Tuesday was Tech arts, and we did some sort of test. BORING! We didn't really do anything else. I also had production practice on Tuesday. We sang 'Hang on for the Ride', and I had a giggling fit! On Wednesday we had R.I and WIMS football practice! And this time I actually REMEMBERED MY BOOTS! Yahoo! Anyway, on Friday I have got soccer for winter sports, and I want to trail with Casey for Inter Intermediate Table Tennis. Dad has flown to England, and I am already missing him. BYE!

Week 4 Term 2
This week has been quite normal. On Tuesday we had science. The lesson was all about acids, bases, and neutrals. We were in groups of three. I was with Casey, my best friend, and Rain. Mrs Tyson gave us 6 different substances. We had to record the taste, smell, and feel of these liquids in a chart. Then we had to guess by the information gathered, if they were acids, bases, or neutrals. We confirmed our answers using litmus paper to dip in the liquids. Another type of litmus paper helped us identify what pH the acid, base or neutral was.
Also on Tuesday, a production practice was held. We practised scenes eight, nine and ten.
On Wednesday, there was WIMS and Belmont practise. It was really hard work, as I forgot my boots. Man were my feet sore afterwards! We had Jump Jam on Wednesday as well. It was a day FULL of fitness.
On Thursday, there is a lunch time rehearsal for production. There is also band. I like band, but the instument I am playing is pretty boring. I spend most time in band just sitting down, or running around photo-copying music pieces. On Friday there will be a Belmont practice, and I am definitely NOT going to forget my boots this time! (OUCH)
This week I am on dishes. On Friday, the TECH teachers bring a shared morning tea. I have already contacted Mrs Tyson and asked if she could bring something extra spectacular on Friday, as Nicole and I will get to eat the left overs!
Bye! Wish me luck and cross your fingers that I will get SUPER yummy food on Friday!!

Character Description!
Her ferocious aqua eyes are flecked with gold, and framed with long dark eyelashes. Brown hair trails down her back, with bouncy curls kissing their tips. Her pale freckled cheeks are slightly flushed while she runs through the fields barefoot.
Tight jeans hug her skinny figure, and a baggy t-shirt flaps around her waist. A smile spreads out across her plush red lips, showcasing her gleaming teeth.
Her cheeky, adventurous mind starts bubbling up daring ideas as she spies a mud patch. She veers toward the patch, arms stretched out wide. Wrinkling her button nose, and squinting her eyes, she dives onto the mud, squeaking through closed lips.
“SPLAT!”
Mud sprays up, painting her skin and hair with the dark goo. A huge smile appears on her recognizable face.
Standing up, she looks down at her dirty clothes, still grinning. She wipes the muck off her face with her long fingers.
‘Better wash myself off with hose before Mum sees!’ she thinks.
With that thought in her mind, she bounds back the way she came, leaving muddy footprints all through the lush green fields.
Week three
This week has been pretty cool! On Tuesday in science we extracting salt and coloring out of water! I did this activity with Casey and Kylie. We also made some soap for mothers day, and mine is yellow and an aqua color! We will collect them on Friday, and if I remember, I will take a photo and put it on my blog. The previous thing we made in week two was a poppy candle, to celebrate ANZAC Day. On Wednesday we had Belmont and WIMS training, and its really cool because Opal and Casey are doing both of them with me. Don't tell anyone, but because Casey is on dishes, and on Wednesday she bought me back a Ginger slice! MMMMMMMMMMMM!
Week two
The picture you see below is of the new SHINE piece of art painted over the course of week one and two. This piece of artwork is placed on the brick wall, (obviously!) in front of rooms one, two and three. We also had pubertal change lessons. OOOOOOOH! I cannot explain to you what we learnt as I am afraid it would be illegal to write something like that on a blog! Anyway, we also had WIMS Football trails, and guess what....
I GOT IN! I also got in to Belmont Girls Football, but this year, we will be staying at TAI. On Friday I had summer games, and I did table tennis with Chloe Shaw. We won all of our rounds, which was pretty awesome, as we learnt heaps of points for our house, Puniu. Next week, Mr Denize is going to announce which house won!

Week one term 2
The first week of school has been pretty busy. We've had production practice, and we've had the soft ball semi-finals, which I was a part of. We lost that, but we still had to have a play off for the places of 3rd. I wasn't in that team, because the people who are ALWAYS in softball filled up the spaces! They won the game, so they got 3rd. We are doing tech arts on Friday, and we are making slime. YAY! On Tuesday we learnt about Atoms, which are made up of Neutrons, electrons and Protons. The Atoms can join together to create molecules. The Neutrons, Protons and Electrons are made up of things like Hydrogen. Did you know that water molecules are made up of one oxygen atom and two Hydrogen atoms? I have music camp next week, which is cool, but we've also got pubertal change lessons coming up, which is so NOT cool! On Tuesday we had WIMS Football trials, and I am going to find out if I got sometime next week.

Te Awamutu Intermediate present Once Upon a Crime | March 26
Wellington was probably the most full on four days I've had in my life! There were so many things that we did, ranging from a visit to the National Library, to spending 45 minutes in the cold Wellington sea, looking at starfish, sea cucumbers, and big blue fish! Every one of these activities I enjoyed, but obviously I enjoyed some more than others. One day we went to Wellington Zoo, and that was one of my favourite trips. Casey, Raiha, Megan and I got to watch a small Blue Penguin named Korora have surgery on her right flipper. We also saw a stick insect 12 inches long!!!! Zealandia was another place I thoroughly enjoyed. We were able to stroke a Tuatara, and eat a Kawakawa leaf! (Which made your mouth go numb!) The Kawakawa leaf (also known as the pepper tree), was used as an antiseptic by the Pākehā and the Maori. We did a few trips to museums, and we had two trips to Capital E. Above is the video that we made in group two. To watch group 1's video, go to YouTube and search up Capital E nz, than click on the first site that appears.
Carter Observatory was also something I really enjoyed. I found the fact that universe is all that there amazing! I can't even really get my head around it! Space is a VERY interesting subject, and if all else fails for me career wise, I would certainly try and take up the opportunity of being an astronomer.
I have to say, the bus ride was definitely the worst part of camp. Eight hours!!! I could hardly handle it, as I am not one for staying long periods of time in the same spot! The food we had at camp was waaaaaaaay better than I thought it would be. One night we had nachos, another night we had devils sausage, and another night we had chicken. The dessert was even better, with a mixture of fruit, ice-cream, and jelly! Every morning, after breakfast, we packed our lunches with muesli bars, baking, sandwiches, and fruit. Bedtimes were around 8:30.
We paid a short visit to Te Papa, and I can say without a doubt that Te Papa is a place that you could spend up to five hours roaming around the building, and then when it comes time to leave, you've still only explored half of it! There was so much history recorded in this museum. We also visited Wellington Museum of City and Sea. This was amazing to me, as it used to be a harbor storage barn, housing the wheat and materials coming in from big boats. A lot of boats went out of Wellington harbor as well, like wool and animal skins. I thought this museum was really cool, with a nice era about it.
Another place we went was the H20 Extreme Centre, which had hydro slides for the kids, and Hot pools for the Mums and Dads. There was a raging rapids part, which I thought was really cool!
On the drive back from Welly, most of the kids had a snooze. I tried.. and failed to get a sleep! We stopped of in Taihapi to buy some lunch. Mum bought a club sandwich and an apple turnover, and I bought a avacado and chicken roll, and a blueberry muffin.
When we got back to school, a few parents were already there, but because dad was at work, Amy's mum had to drop us off at home.
I really enjoyed the camp, but I am glad to get back, as there is no place like home!

Learning Reflection week 7
As I am writing this my face is red hot, and my arm is sore. Why? Let me tell you.
This week has been a pretty normal week. I finished my jumper on Tuesday, and I am now making a beanie, that is green and red.
Today I had Girls Football Skills up on Sherwin, which explains why my face is red hot, and I also had my immunization in the morning, which explains why I have a sore arm!
I am gradually cooling down from playing non stop soccer, but we have to do jump jam in 20 minutes! Damn!
I have found out that I am Gina in the production, which is the part that I auditioned as!!!! I am soooooooooo excited!

Learning reflection week 6
This week has been pretty cool. Wednesday was mufti day, and I have been doing a lot of work. I have learnt how to add and subtract integers. Before I started the work,I didn't even know what they were! Integers are practically any number so long as it is not a decimal, but it is mostly negative numbers. The equations I do are like -3+-9= -12
Casey, Oksana, Amy, Bert, Dani and I have been working on a report on either the Holocaust or Gallipoli. I have chosen the Holocaust, and the report that I have written is in my drive, in my writing folder, under the title of 'Holocaust.' Terrible things took place those days under the hands of a horrible man, named Adolf Hitler. 11 million men, woman, and children were mass murdered because of Hitlers Anti semitism. He sent out Propaganda saying that Jews, Gypsies, and many other types of people were the down fall of Germany.
A path way has been made at the end of the school, and a painting of SHINE is getting created on the brick wall on the front of our classroom. I have nearly finished my jersey, and I will hopefully get to put up a photo of it!

The writing above is my portrait poem that I have written this week. I have two other poems in my Drive. It is obvious why they are called 'Portrait Poems', as they are poems that describe you, and create an idea of your personality in the readers mind. This week I have also learnt how to understand Integers, Square Root, and how to identify the Highest Common Factor and Lowest Common Multiple. We have been given our test results, and my biggest achievement is getting a level 6P in the test for writing! The piece that I wrote on this test was called Referees aren't always right, and this piece is in my Drive as well. This week Production trials were held, and I auditioned with Casey and Mya. I reckon all three of us will get a reasonable part in the Production, as Mrs Ellis and Mrs Shaw seemed pretty impressed with us! The school found out on Monday that Rain, Mania, Boston, and Eden have scored head student! This afternoon is jump jam. I am on dishes this week too! Yay!

Learning Reflection Week 4
Week 4
This week has been very full on. We have had our second session of french, swimming heats, and House Captain speeches. During this week we have had probably...maybe... four tests? Well, there is so many I have lost count! The minor games that were held in week 2 had a great part in getting to know all the new members in Puniu. (My School House) Maths this week has been quite self managing, as for some subjects we were able to choose whether we needed to work on it or not. Production notices have been handed out, and I can't wait until my audition. Camp notices have also been handed out, and I now have the check list and the itinerary. This is another thing that I'm SUPER exited about! I still need to get in my KBB rental form to rent an Alto Saxophone, which I am switching to in band. But until that form is back, I am playing the glockenspiel. This Saturday I am having my first piano lesson with my teacher, but we still need to organize a FIXED time for my piano lessons to take place. We have just got told that Passion hour will be carrying on next term! Woo hoo! Passion hour is an hour (or 45 minutes) we use to do something we've been wanting to do for ages. E.G Learn card tricks, or how to play monopoly. Last year everybody in the class did passion hour. This year though, my teacher is limiting that amount to the people she think are actually learning something, or using passion hour wisely. I hope I am one of those students.
